How do I set up Open Banking in agentOS?

Go to Accounts > Bank Accounts, click Actions against the relevant account, and select Link to Open Banking. Follow the TrueLayer authentication steps to connect your bank and begin importing transactions.

Open Banking in agentOS allows you to automatically import bank transactions directly from your bank, reducing the need for manual statement uploads. The connection is powered by TrueLayer.

Before you begin:

  • Check that your bank is supported (see the list of compatible banks below)
  • Note the last date for which you have uploaded statement entries — you will need this during setup to ensure transactions import from the correct point in time
  • You can check this via Reconcile Statements > Unposted and Posted Entries

Important notes on discrepancies: Open Banking discrepancies may occasionally occur due to the way some banks interact with the Open Banking service. These are outside of agentOS's control. If you encounter any issues, please contact support@agentos.com.

Barclays clients in particular may notice discrepancies due to transaction timestamps late in the day. Barclays can change their cut-off time for entries without notice, which may cause differences between your Reconcile System and your bank balance. Contact support@agentos.com if you need help with this.

  3. Select Link to Open Banking
  4. A window will appear — click Connect

Step 2 — Complete the setup in agentOS:

  1. Once back in agentOS, click Link to Open Banking to finalise the connection
  2. You will be asked to confirm your account and the date from which to import statements
  3. Select midnight of the last date you uploaded statements for — this ensures only new entries are imported and no duplicates are created
  4. Make sure you select the correct account before confirming

Your transactions can now be viewed under Reconcile Statements, accessible from the left-hand menu.

Renewing your authorisation: For security purposes, Open Banking authorisation must be renewed every 85 days. agentOS displays a countdown against your bank account under Accounts > Bank Accounts. To renew, see the article: How do I renew my Open Banking authorisation in agentOS?

Note on Standing Orders: Standing Orders will not automatically link to a person's profile, as the reference on a bank statement does not match the reference received from the bank via Open Banking.

Supported Banks

A wide range of UK banks and building societies support Open Banking via TrueLayer. As the list is updated regularly, please refer to the TrueLayer supported banks page for the most current information.

Note that challenger banks such as Monzo and Starling are supported but with more limited options compared to traditional banks.

If your bank is not listed, please contact support@agentos.com to check compatibility.
