How do I find out when rent was last increased on a tenancy in agentOS?
The Last Rent Increase Power Report shows you the last time rent was increased on each tenancy by identifying the start date of the final rent period, helping you stay on top of rent reviews.
The Last Rent Increase report is a Power Report in agentOS that helps you identify the last time rent was increased on a tenancy. This is particularly useful for periodic tenancies, where rent reviews are typically carried out at renewals or when a new tenancy begins.
How the report works
The report pulls through all tenancies where the last rent period end date is blank — meaning the rent period runs until the end of the tenancy. From this, the start date of the last rent period tells you when the rent was most recently increased.
For example, if a rent schedule shows:
- A payment starting at tenancy commencement
- A subsequent rent period beginning on a later date with no end date set
Then the start date of that later period is the last time the rent was increased.
Important: This report only works correctly if rent schedules are updated in full when a rent change is applied. If only the amount owed is changed without updating the rent schedule, the change will not be reflected in this report.
Reading the results
- The Rent Period Start column shows the date the current rent period began — this is the date the rent was last increased.
- If the Rent Period Start column is blank, the rent on that tenancy has never been increased.
- The report can be filtered by the Manage Rent toggle to focus on relevant tenancies.
Recommended use
You may wish to add a custom field to tenancies to record a Rent Review Due date. This would allow you to build a further report based on that field to keep track of upcoming rent reviews across your portfolio. Please contact support@agentos.com if you would like this custom field and associated report set up for you.
Installing the report
If you cannot see the Last Rent Increase report, the package will need to be installed. You can upload it yourself via OS Customisations, or contact support@agentos.com and the team can install it for you.
