Why is my sales property showing in the wrong location on Rightmove or other portals?
Incorrect property locations on portals like Rightmove are usually caused by an inaccurate address or postcode in agentOS. You can correct this by verifying the address details on the property record, or by manually setting the GPS coordinates.
If a property is not displaying in the correct location on Rightmove or another portal, there are two approaches to resolving this.
Solution 1: Verify the Address Information
Incorrect or incomplete address data is the most common cause of location errors. To check and correct this:
- Navigate to the property's Sales Instruction in agentOS
- Click Edit to open the property details
- Check that Address Line 1 contains the correct street address
- Verify that the postcode is accurate and properly formatted
- Save any corrections made
Once saved, the corrected location will feed through to Rightmove automatically. Please note that other connected portals may handle address updates differently — allow some time for the change to process if you are checking on a portal other than Rightmove.
Solution 2: Manually Set GPS Coordinates
If the address appears correct but the location is still displaying inaccurately, you can manually set the GPS coordinates for the property. You will need the property's latitude and longitude coordinates before following this step — these can be found using mapping tools such as Google Maps.
Once you have the coordinates:
- Open the Sales Instruction in agentOS
- Click Actions in the top right-hand corner
- Select Recalculate Geo Location
- Enter the correct latitude and longitude values
- Save the record
The updated coordinates will be sent to Rightmove automatically once saved. Please note that other connected portals may handle location updates differently — if you are seeing an issue on a portal other than Rightmove, allow some time for the change to process or contact support@agentos.com for guidance.
