What's the difference between Send & Receive and Send Only branded email options?
Send & Receive routes all emails through agentOS with full conversation history, whilst Send Only lets you send from your branded address but receive replies in your existing email system.
agentOS Branded Emails offers two service options to suit different business requirements.
Send & Receive
This is the main option and the one most commonly used. It results in 100% of emails sent to and received by your custom email addresses passing through agentOS.
How it works:
- All incoming emails sent to your custom address are routed into agentOS (your Inbox)
- All emails sent from agentOS use your custom address
- Full conversation history is automatically logged against individual contacts
Technical requirements:
- MX Record update (routes incoming emails to agentOS mail server)
- TXT Record addition (marks Amazon SES as a verified sender on your domain)
Best for: Businesses that want to manage all client communication within agentOS and maintain complete conversation histories in one central location.
Send Only
This option is best if you wish to keep your current email infrastructure intact whilst benefiting from professional branded sending.
How it works:
- You can send emails from agentOS using your custom address
- Replies are routed back to your current inbox (not into agentOS)
- You maintain your existing email setup
Technical requirements:
- TXT Record addition only (marks Amazon SES as a verified sender on your domain)
Best for: Businesses that prefer to keep their current email system but want the professional appearance of sending from their business domain.
Important notes:
Both options use Amazon SES (Amazon's email platform) to send emails from agentOS. This service is used even for default system email addresses, ensuring reliable high-volume email delivery.
The technical changes required must remain in place for continued email functionality. If you're unsure which option suits your business needs, consult with your IT administrator or contact support@agentos.com for guidance.
