What's the difference between Send-Only and Send & Receive SMS?

Send-Only uses a branded name for one-way messaging (4p-7p per message), whilst Send & Receive provides a dedicated number for two-way communication (first number free, 7p per message sent).

agentOS offers two SMS services with distinct features to match different communication needs:

Send-Only SMS

  • Identity: Uses a branded name (up to 11 characters, e.g., 'Agentbrand')
  • Monthly cost: No monthly fee
  • Message cost: 4p per UK message, 7p per international message
  • Communication type: One-way only—clients cannot reply
  • Best for: Alerts, updates, reminders, and broadcast messages where replies aren't needed

Send & Receive SMS

  • Identity: Uses a dedicated phone number
  • Monthly cost: First number free, £5/month + VAT for additional numbers
  • Message cost: 7p to send (UK and international), free to receive
  • Communication type: Two-way—clients can reply, and responses appear in your agentOS inbox
  • Integration: Replies integrate fully with client records
  • Best for: Ongoing conversations, customer service, and relationship management requiring two-way dialogue

Choosing the Right Service: Select Send-Only SMS if you primarily need to send updates, alerts, and reminders where client responses aren't required, and you want to minimise costs.

Select Send & Receive SMS if you need full two-way communication, want replies integrated with client records, and value the professional appearance of a dedicated business number.
