What is a fee draw down?
A fee draw down is the process that transfers your agency's earned fees from the client account to your business account, separating client funds from agency income within the system.
A fee draw down is the process of transferring your agency's fees from the client account to your business account.
The client account holds money that belongs to landlords and tenants—such as rent payments, deposits, and other tenant funds. Your agency's earned fees need to be separated from this client money, and the draw down process manages this separation.
When you process a draw down, the system calculates the net amount and VAT (if applicable) that you need to transfer. You'll then transfer these amounts from your client account to your business account, and the next day you'll reconcile these transfers to ensure everything matches correctly.
Most agencies complete draw downs weekly, typically on Mondays for the previous week's fees.
If you're new to the system, you should complete your first few draw downs under supervision. For step-by-step instructions on using the draw down feature, please refer to the "Draw Down" article in the knowledge base.
