What Documents Are Accepted as Proof of Address for Calmony Verification?

Griffin accept a specific list of documents as proof of address (PoA). All documents must be genuine and unedited, clearly showing the applicant's name and address. Most must be dated within the last 3 months.

When Griffin cannot automatically match or confirm a person's address during the Calmony verification process, they will request a proof of address (PoA) document.

Basic requirements

All proof of address documents must meet the following criteria:

  • Dated within the last 3 months (unless otherwise specified in the list below)
  • Submitted in one of the following formats:
    • The original, unedited PDF, downloaded directly from the provider's app or website
    • A scan of the original document, saved as a PDF or image file (such as a JPG)
    • A photograph of a physical document showing all four corners, with all information clearly visible and nothing hidden or obscured
  • Screenshots are not accepted, including screenshots converted to a PDF or image file. For digital documents such as online bank statements, please download the original PDF directly from the app or online banking.

Important note on driving licences

A driving licence can only be used as proof of address if it wasn't already used as proof of identity during the ID&V process. If a passport was used for the identity check, the driving licence can be used for PoA. However, if the driving licence was used for the identity check, it can't also be used for PoA, and Griffin cannot go back and swap the ID document to a passport to free it up.

If you are unsure

If you're unsure whether a document provided by a landlord or payee meets Griffin's criteria, we (Calmony) can send it to Griffin for confirmation. Contact support@calmony.co and we'll check with Griffin on your behalf.
