What documents are accepted as proof of address for Calmony verification?
Griffin Bank accepts a specific list of documents as proof of address (PoA). All documents must be genuine, unedited originals and clearly show the applicant's name and address. Most must be dated within the last 3 months.
When Griffin Bank cannot automatically match or confirm a person's address during the Calmony verification process, they will request a proof of address (PoA) document. Griffin are strict about what is and is not acceptable, so it is important to submit the right type of document in the correct format.
Basic requirements
All proof of address documents must meet the following criteria:
- Dated within the last 3 months (unless otherwise specified in the list below)
- Submitted as either an original, unedited, unchanged PDF or image file, or a photograph of a physical document that shows all four corners with all information clearly visible and nothing hidden or obscured

| Bank or Building Society Statement | Must be dated within the last 3 months and clearly show name and address. |

| Benefits or DWP Pension Confirmation | Must be dated within the last 12 months and clearly show name and address. |
| Council Tax Bill | Must be dated for the current tax year and clearly show name and address. |
| HMRC Letter | Must be dated within the last 3 months and clearly show name and address. |
| Tenancy Agreement | Must clearly show the name and address of the applicant. |
| Council Rent Card | Must clearly show the name and address of the applicant. |
| Firearms or Shotgun Licence | Must be valid and clearly show the name and address of the applicant. |
| Bankruptcy Order | Must clearly show the name and address of the applicant. |
| Mortgage Statement | Must be dated within the last 12 months and clearly show name and address. |
| Inland Revenue Notice of Tax | Must be dated for the current tax year and clearly show name and address. |
| Solicitor Letter | Must be dated within the last 3 months and clearly show name and address of the applicant. Must be on headed paper and include the contact name and details of the solicitor who produced the letter. |
Important note on driving licences
If a person completes their Griffin Verify check using their passport as their proof of identity, they may use their driving licence as their proof of address. However, if they used their driving licence as their proof of identity, Griffin will not accept it as proof of address. Griffin are unable to switch the ID document to a passport after the fact in order to then use the driving licence as PoA.
