What document preparation is required for e-signatures in agentOS?

Documents need specific tags added before they can be used for e-signatures—you can add these yourself using the Word add-on, or our team can help during onboarding.

Before you can send documents for e-signature through agentOS, they need to have specific tags added that indicate where each party should sign, initial, or add information. These tags tell the e-signature system exactly where to place signature fields for each recipient.

Two ways to prepare your documents:

Option 1: Add tags yourself using the Word add-on

You can add the required tags to your documents using our Word add-on tool. This gives you complete control over where signature fields appear and allows you to prepare documents whenever needed. We have a separate article that explains how to use the document tag add-on in Word.

Option 2: Have our team prepare your documents

Our team can add the necessary tags to your documents for you. However, the availability and cost of this service depends on your client status:

For new clients during onboarding - Document preparation can be included as part of your onboarding process at no additional cost. This is the most cost-effective option, so it's worth having a good think about which documents you'll need for e-signatures before your onboarding begins.

For existing clients - If you're already using agentOS and want to add e-signature functionality to existing documents, this will likely be provided as a professional service with associated costs. To avoid these charges, it's best to identify your e-signature requirements as early as possible—ideally during your initial onboarding if you haven't enabled e-signatures yet.
