How do I verify an overseas landlord?

Overseas landlords require enhanced verification due to international AML regulations, which incurs an additional fee.

When a landlord is based overseas, Griffin must perform additional checks to satisfy anti-money laundering requirements. This applies whether the landlord is an individual or a company.

How to add an overseas landlord:

  1. Add the landlord as you normally would in Calmony
  2. The system will detect the overseas address and flag the landlord for enhanced verification
  3. You will see a warning confirming additional fees will apply
  4. Once submitted, Griffin will process the enhanced verification

Important: If you add an overseas landlord by mistake, you will still be charged once the verification is submitted. Please check landlord details carefully before submitting.

Fees:

  • Initial verification: £52.50 (one-off)
  • Annual re-verification: £27.50 (applies if the payee is active, meaning they have received or paid funds within the last six months)
