How do I set up standing orders (recurring payments) using the agentOS Payment App?

From the person's profile, select "Payment App & Standing Orders", choose "Setup Standing Order with App", specify the payment amount, frequency, and dates, then send to your client to authorise.

Standing orders through the agentOS Payment App allow you to set up recurring rent collections with automatic reconciliation. This feature is particularly useful for regular monthly rent payments, as it includes the agentPay rent automation and reconciliation service.

To set up a standing order:

  1. Navigate to the person's profile
  2. Select "Payment App & Standing Orders" from the ladder menu
  3. Choose "Setup Standing Order with App"
  4. The form will pre-populate with the rent period details (e.g., "Start Tenancy-End Tenancy: Payment of £3,730.00 per calendar month")
  5. Specify the following details:
    • Pay Into: Select which bank account will receive the payment
    • Will Pay: The type of payment (e.g., Rent)
    • Payment Description: Optional field for additional context
    • Occurrence: How frequently the payment should be made (e.g., Monthly)
    • Amount: The payment amount (pre-populated but adjustable)
    • First Payment: The date of the first payment
    • Last Payment (Optional): The final payment date, or leave blank for ongoing payments until cancelled
  6. Click "Confirm"
  7. Send the request to your client via email and/or SMS

Your client can then select the payment amount, frequency, first payment date, and final payment date as needed, or set recurring payments to continue until further notice.

Standing order fees:

  • Setup request: £0.35 (one-off)
  • agentPay rent automation and reconciliation: Additional £0.75 per rent paid (waived for Calmony Client Account holders)

All payment requests appear in the "Payment App & Standing Orders" grid, updating in real time as your client completes the setup process. The grid shows the request type, app link, amount paid, outstanding balance, and current state.
