How do I set up Single Sign-On (SSO) for agentOS?

agentOS offers two SSO methods: using Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD) for corporate authentication, or setting up SSO through your staff profile with a one-time email link.

agentOS supports Single Sign-On (SSO) to simplify your login experience and enhance security. There are two methods available depending on your organisation's setup.

Method 1: Using Microsoft Entra

If your organisation uses Microsoft Entra (formerly known as Azure Active Directory), you can use your corporate credentials to access agentOS.

Setting up Microsoft Entra SSO

  1. Log into agentOS using your standard credentials
  2. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Navigate to Settings
  4. Scroll down to Account Settings
  5. Select Setup agentOS Single Sign-on
  6. Click the Microsoft-Entra button to authenticate using your corporate ID

What happens next?

When you select Microsoft-Entra, you'll be redirected to a login screen where you can choose between signing in with your corporate ID or using your standard email and password.

After selecting Microsoft-Entra, you'll need to:

  1. Enter your password on the Microsoft authentication page
  2. Approve the sign-in request through your Microsoft Authenticator app (or your organisation's chosen authentication method)
  3. Enter the verification number shown on your device

Once you've approved your login and signed in successfully, you'll have full access to your agentOS account using SSO.

Important notes:

  • The Microsoft-Entra option routes you through a separate authentication platform
  • You'll need to confirm your login credentials for that platform each time
  • Multi-factor authentication may be required depending on your organisation's security settings

Method 2: Setting up using staff profile

If you're not using Microsoft Entra, you can set up SSO through your staff profile. This method requires an administrator to initiate the process on your behalf.

How an administrator sets up SSO for you

An administrator needs to:

  1. Log into agentOS using the Classic Sign-In option
  2. Navigate to Settings > Staff
  3. Find your staff profile
  4. Select Send Single Sign-On Email

What you'll receive

You'll receive a one-time email at your registered address (External Email 1 in your profile) with the subject "Welcome to agentOS Single Sign-On". This email contains:

  • A welcome message explaining the SSO enhancement
  • A Set Up Single Sign-On button
  • An important note: This link is only valid for 15 minutes

Important: If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder before requesting it to be resent.

Setting up your SSO account

  1. Click the Set Up Single Sign-On button in the email (within 15 minutes)
  2. You'll be taken to a secure page where you can create your password
  3. After setting your password, you'll receive a verification code via email
  4. Enter the verification code on the confirmation screen

Setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA)

After confirming your account, you'll be prompted to set up an authenticator app for added security:

  1. Install an authenticator app on your mobile device (such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or Authy)
  2. Scan the QR code displayed on screen with your authenticator app
    • Alternatively, you can manually enter the secret key
  3. Enter the code generated by your authenticator app
  4. Click Complete Setup

You can also choose "No thanks, I'll set it up later" if you prefer to configure MFA at a different time.

Success confirmation

Once setup is complete, you'll receive a success message. You can now use your SSO email address when logging into agentOS.

If you forget your password

If you forget your SSO password:

  1. Click the Forgot your password? button on the login screen
  2. Enter the email address you use for SSO
  3. Click Reset my password
  4. You'll receive a code via email
  5. Enter the code and create your new password
