How do I reset a password for a colleague in agentOS?

Any owner/client administrator level staff member can reset passwords for colleagues through Settings > Staff, where they can create a temporary password meeting security requirements (minimum 8 characters including one capital letter, one number, and one symbol).

If you need to reset a password for a colleague or staff member in agentOS, any owner/client administrator level staff member at your agency can process this request.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Access Settings
    • Click on the person icon at the top right of your dashboard
    • Choose "Settings" from the dropdown menu
  2. Navigate to Staff List
    • Select "Staff" in the settings tab to display the list of all staff members
  3. Locate the Staff Member
    • Use the filter in the left-hand ladder to search for the specific staff member, OR
    • Locate them directly from the list displayed on the page
  4. Reset the Password
    • Click on the actions button to the right-hand side of their line
    • Select "Reset Password"
    • resetthepw.png
  5. Create a Temporary Password
    • Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include:
      • At least one capital letter
      • At least one number
      • At least one symbol (such as ,.?!@-)
    • An ideal example would be: Password.1
  6. Provide the Password to Your Colleague
    • Share this temporary password with your colleague so they can log in
    • Important: The "current password" you're prompted for is YOUR password (the administrator creating the reset)
    • The "new password" will be the temporary password you create for your colleague
  7. User Creates Their Own Permanent Password
    • Once logged in, your colleague can change this temporary password to their own permanent password
    • Their new password must also be at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital letter, one number, and one symbol

Self-Service Password Resets with Single Sign-On (SSO)

agentOS now offers Single Sign-On (SSO), which allows users to reset their own passwords without administrator assistance.

We recommend setting up SSO for all staff members to:

  • Reduce administrative workload
  • Improve security
  • Enable self-service password resets

For more information about setting up and using SSO, please see our dedicated Single Sign-On article.
