How do I request a new feature or custom development for the agentOS API?

You can submit a community feature request (free, community-voted) or commission professional services for urgent or bespoke custom development. Both options are available via api@agentos.com.

If you need functionality that isn't currently available in the agentOS API, there are two pathways.

Option 1: Community feature requests

Community feature requests are free and driven by user demand. Features with the most votes are prioritised in the development backlog, so all users benefit once a feature is released.

To submit a request:

  1. Visit the agentOS Feature Request Board
  2. Search for existing requests — if yours exists, vote for it to increase its priority
  3. If it doesn't exist, create a new request with detailed requirements and a clear use case
  4. Share the request with others who might benefit, to gather more votes

The more detailed and well-explained the request, the more likely it is to attract votes. Timeline depends on community priority and development capacity — no specific ETAs can be provided.

Option 2: Professional services

Professional services are appropriate when:

  • You need functionality within a specific timeframe
  • Your requirements are specific to your business
  • The feature is mission-critical
  • You have budget available for custom development

Professional services are billed based on the scope and complexity of the work required. Pricing is provided on a per-project basis.

Include:

  • Detailed requirements
  • Your use case and how you plan to use the functionality
  • Timeline requirements
  • Integration details (how it connects to your existing systems)
  • Data requirements
  • Expected usage volume
  • Success criteria

Once received, the team will review your requirements within 2–3 business days, may request clarification, and will then provide a detailed quote covering scope, timeline, and cost.

Can I submit both?

Yes — but if you commission professional services, the work will almost certainly be completed before a community vote gains enough traction to be implemented.

Note on intellectual property: When requesting professional services, you are paying for customisation and prioritisation. agentOS reserves the right to incorporate aspects of the development into its broader product where appropriate. You will still be charged, as the solution was expedited and tailored to your requirements.
