How do I process and approve AML checks in Credas?

AML checks with a Submitted status need to be reviewed in Credas multiple times daily. Depending on the outcome of each panel, you will either approve the check or refer it to the client.

Note: This article is primarily intended for internal staff use only.

Monitoring AML Checks

AML checks need to be monitored several times a day — ideally first thing in the morning, last thing in the evening, and at least once in between when time allows.

To review checks, log into Credas at https://portal.credas.co.uk/dashboard and navigate to the Individuals tab on the left-hand side. Filter the view to show Submitted checks only, then click into any newly submitted checks to review them.

Passing a Check

When you open a check, look at each panel for any yellow exclamation marks. If all panels show a green tick, the check can be approved. Use the Status dropdown to change the status from Submitted to Approved. You do not need to contact the client — agentOS will update automatically on the next batch refresh, which occurs within approximately one hour.

Reviewing a Referred Check

If any panel shows a yellow exclamation mark, this means Credas has referred that part of the check to us. Review the relevant panel using the check type guidance (see the related article on how AML checks work via Credas) to understand why it has been referred.

Consider whether the issue is something that can be resolved on your end. For example, if a name has been flagged as incorrect due to a spelling error or the inclusion of a client reference code (such as "Jake Dryburgh (97C)"), you can edit the name directly at the top of the check. After refreshing the check and clicking back into the identity check, Credas will update that panel to passed.

When to Refer to the Client

If you cannot resolve the issue — for example, a failed Proof of Ownership or a close match on a PEP — the check must be referred to the client for further detail.

You should also refer a check to the client even if you cannot immediately identify the cause of the issue. Clients know their own applicants better than we do and will often be able to identify and resolve issues themselves.

For full instructions on how to refer a check to a client, see the related article on referring an AML check to a client.
