How do I forward external emails into agentOS?
You can set up email forwarding so that emails sent to your regular inbox are automatically forwarded to your agentOS inbox. This is done using mail flow rules or blanket forwarding within your email provider's settings.
agentOS provides each user with a set of default email addresses for sending and receiving communications. In addition to these, you can customise your email addresses using your own domain name (branded emails).
When clients, landlords, tenants, or contractors send emails to your regular business email address, those emails arrive in your standard inbox first. To have those emails appear in your agentOS inbox as well, you need to set up forwarding from your email provider.
How forwarding works
Emails sent to you by external parties arrive at your outbound mail server and land in your regular inbox. From there, mail flow rules or blanket forwarding settings redirect a copy of those emails to your agentOS inbox address. This means communications from landlords, tenants, contractors, and others are captured within agentOS alongside all other correspondence.
Setting up forwarding
The method for setting up forwarding depends on your email provider. In most cases, this is done through one of the following:
- Mail flow rules — These can be configured in your email platform (such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace) to automatically forward messages that match certain criteria to your agentOS inbox address.
- Blanket forwarding — This forwards all incoming emails from your inbox to your agentOS inbox address, regardless of sender or content.
Your agentOS inbox address is the address provided to you when your agentOS account was set up. If you are unsure of this address, contact support at support@agentos.com.
Branded email addresses
As noted in the Branded Emails article, agentOS provides default email addresses for sending communications. You can also set up custom branded email addresses using your own domain name. If you are using branded email addresses, ensure your forwarding rules are configured to forward to the correct agentOS inbox address associated with your branded setup.
