How do I add a nominal code in agentOS?
Nominal codes in agentOS can only be added by agentOS staff. If you require a nominal code to be set up, please contact support@agentos.com.
Note: This article is intended for internal staff use only and is not intended for clients.
Nominal codes are used to map agentOS charge types to a client's accounting software. There are two places where nominal codes can be recorded in agentOS, and the client will always provide the code they need. In some cases, you may be able to designate the code yourself, but this should be confirmed with the client first.
Important: Nominal codes can only be added or amended by agentOS staff. Clients should contact support@agentos.com to request changes.
Method 1: Via Sales Types (Charge Types)
This is the most common method. Sales Types (also referred to as Charge Types) can be found under:
Person icon > Object Types > Accounts Heading > Sales Types
To add or update a nominal code on an existing charge type:
- Navigate to Person icon > Object Types > Accounts Heading > Sales Types
- Click on the relevant charge type in the list
- Click Edit at the top of the record
- Enter the nominal code in the Nominal Code field
- Click Save
Method 2: Via Settings > Nominal Codes
In some instances, the nominal code may need to be recorded directly under Settings > Nominal Codes. The process here follows the same principle — locate the relevant entry, edit it, and enter the nominal code provided by the client.
Important Notes
- The client will always supply the nominal code required — do not assign codes without confirmation from the client.
- In most cases, nominal codes should be applied at the Sales Type level (Method 1). Use the Settings > Nominal Codes route only where specifically required.
